How far in advance should I book?

For most portrait sessions, I recommend reaching out at least one month in advance. For weddings, I recommend inquiring at least four months ahead whenever possible.

That said, I’m always happy to check my calendar for last-minute availability! I just can’t guarantee that open dates will still be available.

What if it rains?

For portrait sessions, I usually wait until I’m confident the weather will actually affect our session before making the call to reschedule. Sometimes that means we may not decide until just a few hours beforehand, since the forecast can change so quickly. If we do get rained out, we’ll simply reschedule for another available date.

For weddings, don’t worry—rain does not mean you won’t have beautiful photos. I’ve photographed weddings in less-than-perfect weather and still created gorgeous, meaningful images. We’ll work with what the day gives us and make the most of it.

Yes! Once your session is booked, I’ll help you choose a location that fits the look and feel you’re hoping for, while also considering things like lighting and time of day. I’m also happy to help with outfit choices and coordinating colors so everything photographs beautifully without feeling too matched or overly styled. You don’t have to figure all of that out on your own.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?


Please don’t stress about this! Kids are kids, and I never expect them to sit still, smile perfectly, or follow directions the entire session. I’ll work with their personalities, keep things moving, and use play, movement, and interaction to help everyone relax. Some of the sweetest images often come from the moments that weren’t perfectly planned.

How and when will I receive my images?

Once your images are finished, I’ll send you a link to your private online gallery where you can view and download your photos. Portrait galleries are typically delivered within 4 weeks of your session. As soon as everything is ready, you’ll receive the gallery link directly in your inbox.
